I'm glad you found the transitfeed library useful and thank you for your contributions to it.

Congratulations on getting so far making your own data. Hopefully Metro Transit will make it redundant.

The hbus dataset still has lots of holes in it. I'm working on a significant update to it though, more on that soon.

Unfortunately just getting a GPS trail while on a bus would only give you the path of the bus. The tricky bit is determining the bus stop locations and gotime numbers.

I assumed you got some basic starting data from the Metro PDFs, but I was wondering how you filled in the blanks.

Are you still missing a lot of (detailed info for) routes? Given that you're tracking where you are via GPS to fill in the blanks, would it be possible to just get someone (who already takes, say, a Link bus or one of the outlying ones) to turn on a GPS device whilst on the bus?

At any rate, thanks so much for enabling people in Halifax to actually have a usable site to get transit info from; Halifax's inability to get that PDF is not my idea of "getting info online" is really frustrating.
